A lot has been going on in real life, so I wasn't really active for the past month and a half.
I started a new job during the later part of September. Although it takes about 30 minutes to commute there by car, I decided to go the longer route by taking the subway since I don't feel like sitting traffic. The subway takes slightly less than 1 hour to reach my office, which means I get almost 2 hours of nothing to do for 5 days every week.
In order to be more productive, I decided to spend the time drawing. I heard about Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 and how it can essentially be a portable digital sketchbook for artists. It certainly beats lugging around a Macbook Pro and tablet! So I got one last weekend, put Photoshop on it and used it on the subway to see how it goes.
The SP3 has really high resolution so you can zoom in on the artwork and it will still be fairly clear. I have to press down a bit harder since it's less pressure sensitive than my Cintiq, but the pressure sensitivity is still nice and the main reason I got this instead of another tablet. I've only had it for a few days now, so I'm still getting used to it, but so far I've been satisfied with it. And since it's Windows, I can finally install Paint Tool SAI on it and try that program out!
Well, it's October so it seems appropriate that I've been busy with some OCT stuff which I'll be submitting over the next couple of weeks. But most of you watch me for my illustrations and I can assure you that I'll have something special for Halloween and than another big thing before the release of ORAS in November! Thank you very much for your patience!
